According to Forbes, your ideal clients see 4,000-10,000 ads a day. So why is it that we’re still so scared to sell?

Starting a business, joining an MLM, creating a course makes you an entrepreneur. Selling your product makes you a marketer.

Entrepreneurship doesn’t make you money. Selling and marketing makes you money.

Many new network marketers and course creators give up when they launch their business and don’t see immediate success. But it’s likely not a “product/topic people don’t want to pay for” or “lack of followers” that keeps them from making sales.

It’s their lack of sales experience. Which they can only get if they… practice selling.

Beginners practice until they get it right (“I made a sale this month!”), PROs practice until they can’t get it wrong (“closed 50% of my sales DMs this month.”)

✨NOT getting certified to ‘become an expert’, means you save time and money.
✨Starting before you’re ready means you get to experiment and find what works for you.
✨Impostor syndrome keeps you relatable… everyone has it!

In the wellness industry, it’s common to feel behind even when you’re just starting out.

After 7 years of entrepreneurship, my business advice can be summed up with these two “rules”:

1. Say ‘no’ when you need to protect your boundaries.

2. Say ‘yes’ when it’s aligned and you’re ready to *grow*.

I read a quote recently from @morganharpernichols that said “You don’t have to be fearless. Doing it afraid is just as brave.”

Saying ‘no’ when you’re scared of the repercussions is bravery.

Saying ‘yes’ when you’re scared you might fail is bravery.

I tell my toddler every day that she’s strong and brave. You are too, friend.

I’ve made numerous 4 and 5 figure investments in my business, and I was scared every single time before taking the leap. Of course I’ve been burned by some investments, but looking back, the ones that felt truly in alignment with my goals and how I wanted to grow have been so worth it. Because I know someone will ask, the best investment I’ve made to date hands down has been @theguideculture sales training (follow @macymcneely and @kathrynmshubert the co-creators for even more 🧃).

Red flag: a coach telling you to "manifest your way to $100k"

Red flag: a coach telling you "do the work until you hit $100k"

Now before Lucy, the Law of Attraction guru, slides into my DMs with some anecdotes about manifesting her dream life into existence, check out my previous post for more of my thoughts on BE-ing being "greater than" DO-ing (🤮)

In order to BE the person you want to be, you have to DO the things you need to do, so you can HAVE the things you want to have.

Ironically, Law of Attraction Lucy is likely claiming manifestation to be her godsend, when in reality, she's doing a lot of DO-ing.

Case in point: I attended a paid money mindset training, from a 7-figure business owner. For 45 minutes, this person discussed how in order to become a 7-figure business owner, you need to *choose* to BE a 7-figure business owner.

Now, I agree mindset is important to your success. But this person was doing a HUGE disservice to her paying clients by not sharing her own strategies, tasks, to-do lists that she was actually DO-ing to be an 7-figure business owner.

To generate revenue, she chose to take action on creating a money mindset training. She chose to create a sales page for said training. She chose a price for said training. She chose to market said training. Yet her advice remains... "If you want to be a 7-figure business owner, you have to BE a 7-figure business owner." 🤔

Unpopular opinion: BE-ing is not greater than DO-i

Unpopular opinion: BE-ing is not greater than DO-ing.

I saw the quote above shared recently (minus the “is not” part - that was my addition), and it made me… a little irritated. There are an abundance of courses and coaches in every industry preaching that all you need to become your next level self is to commit to stepping into that role. To manifest it into existance.

You can’t just decide to “be” a new person without “do”ing the work to become a new person.

Could you manifest a significant other if you stayed inside all day and didn’t take action to socialize? The answer is NO. You have to take action, and get out in the world (virtually or in person) in order to actually meet someone.

Can you be an advocate for social justice without doing the work to advocate for change? Absolutely not! You can’t just claim to be something, and then sit around manifesting it. Nothing changes until you MAKE changes.

Manifestation truly only works when coupled with aligned action. Which means you need to both “be” the person you want to become, and “do” the hard work it takes to become them.

BE-ing and DO-ing, together. One is not greater than the other.
